About Us

The Consulate General of India in Istanbul was opened in April 1994. It provides consular, commercial and cultural services. The consular services consists of issue of passports, other consular facilitations, visas for tourists, entrepreneurs, students etc. visiting India and also assistance, as required, to those Indians visiting Turkey. The commercial wing seeks to strengthen trade relations between India and Turkey. Contacts details of concerned officials are available on the web page. The cultural and education services envisage promotion of events on Indian culture, supporting professionals who promote and learn Indian music, dance, etc and intend to study in India. These events are publicized on our website.

The provinces of Aydin, Balikesir, Bursa, Canakkale, Denizli, Edirne, Istanbul, Kirklareli, Kocaeli, Manisa, Mugla, Sakarya, Tekirdag and Yalova are currently under the jurisdiction of this Consulate. Residents of other parts of Turkey may obtain information and services from the Embassy of India in Ankara.

The Consulate maintains and offers to its visitors, a library equipped with Books, DVDs and CDs, all available for borrowing. The Consulate library is open from Monday to Friday from 0930 – 1230 hrs and from 1400 – 1700 hrs.
