Applicants are advised to send an email to cons.istanbulmea.gov.in in case of any queries regarding visa or difficulty in getting required appointment date.
Fees for visa service are accepted at the Consulate in cash in US Dollars only (Please tender exact amount). For any clarification or further information, please e-mail us at cons1.istanbulmea.gov.in.
Visa Application without uploaded photograph will be rejected.
Gratis (free of charge) Visas are issued to those holding Diplomatic or Official passports travelling for official visits and to persons of the following nationalities: Argentina, Bangladesh, People's Republic of Korea, Jamaica, Maldives, Mauritius, South Africa and Uruguay.
Nationals of Nepal and Bhutan do not require visa to enter India.
Note: Validity of the visa is effective from the date of issue. Each visa application is considered on its merits and the Indian Embassy may ask for additional information at any stage during the processing of the application. Submission of application along with prescribed fee does not guarantee issuance of visa. Non-Residents are not eligible.
Online Visa
Online Visa application has been introduced by Consulate General of India, Istanbul with effect from 5th Feb 2013.
All applicants are requested to visit the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/ for applying visas online. Applicants are also requested to apply online for their visa at least 20 days prior to their scheduled date of travel.
No handwritten visa application would be accepted by the Consulate.
All visa applicants need to visit the Consulate in person with the requisite documents to submit the online application form with photo uploaded and enroll for Biometric. Please note that applications without the requisite documents and online application without photo uploaded will not be acceptable.
While filling the application, follow the steps given below
1. Open the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/ and click on the Online Visa Application Registration button given below.
2. A separate window opens and a Temporary Application ID is provided. You need to fill up all the details online and continue to next pages.
3. On the last page please upload your recent photo. For details of photo, click on the Photo Requirement button on the left side the home page.
4. The duly signed copy of the application form completed in all respect and submitted successfully, is to be submitted at Indian Consulate, Istanbul, on the scheduled date of interview along with the requisite supporting documents and fees.
Important Information: Please note that satellite telephone services are not permitted in India. Therefore, people including tourists found to be making unauthorized use of Thuraya satellite telephone services will be prosecuted and all the sets found in possession of any individual will be seized. Foreigners visiting India are advised not to carry satellite phones with them.
All foreigners travelling to India should strictly abide by the local laws. All foreign nationals entering India are required to possess a valid international travel document in the form of a national passport or UN Laissez Faire with a valid visa obtained from an Indian Mission or Post abroad.
This Consulate requires one working day to process your visa application if you are a Turkish national or a bonafide resident of Türkiye. However, if you are not a Turkish national or a long-term resident of Türkiye, a maximum period of three working days is required to process the case.
Applicants living in following areas are requested to submit their Visa Applications at Consulate General of India, Istanbul: Aydin, Balikesir, Bursa, Canakkale, Denizli, Edirne, Istanbul, Kirklareli, Kocaeli, Manisa, Mugla, Sakarya, Tekirdag and Yalova.
All visa seekers are required to apply in the prescribed online form for visa. The application, complete in all respects, with 2 passport-size photographs and passport (original) along with photocopy of the passport (first 2 pages) and other documents as required, should be submitted with the prescribed fee at the designated counter on any working day.
